I always feel like these subscription crates are a massive gamble. The theme could be pretty much anything and I’ve been disappointed by both a food box and a geek box.

In steps LootCrate with Loot Gaming – a gamercentric subscription box. They give you a headsup of what franchises are going to be included, so you can skip a month if you don’t like anything in it, which I think is pretty neat.

I have you now, Gitaroo Man!

My gaming tastes are kinda niche, and I expect these will be fairly mainstream titles (I’m such a hipster sometimes); Fallout, Call of Duty, Anthem, Red Dead Redemption etc. The companies with the money and fanbases to warrant the cost of creating items for their fans.

Oh how I yearn for Gitaroo Man merch. Wait a second I’ve never actually looked…. THERE IS A WORLD OF GITAROO MAN MERCHANDISE.

Damn I wish they’d do a remaster with both the Japanese/EU and the American soundtracks (unlike the PSP Gitaroo Man Lives which only had the American version).

Sorry, back to the review.

What’s in a Loot Gaming Box?

So with only mild trepidation I cracked open my first box from LootCrate – Loot Gaming Box.

Here’s that glorious time in my life.

So what’s in the box? Did I remember to take photos? Was I impressed?

Things. No. Yes. In that order.

1 – METAL APOCALYPSE PIN BADGE

Made of metal, solid, not something I’d wear but a nice bit of merch. Would be better as a gaming brand rather than Lootcrate.

2 – BORDERLANDS CLAPTRAP T SHIRT

Not something I’d probably buy but very happy to own and wear. Can we have a new Borderlands game please?

3 – FALLOUT RED POWER SUIT FIGURINE

A really solid chunk of plastic, beautifully sculpted and painted. Base was flimsy as fuck and I broke it trying to get it on. Otherwise full marks and it’s stood towering over my amiibo with Mario giving him some serious side eye.

4 – RAGE 2 GOON XING SIGN

That  one has gone in the prize bag but I imagine someone into Rage 2 (and maybe a little younger) would have this up on their bedroom wall.

5 – THE LAST OF US MUG

I have it with a cup of tea on the go right now. I collected mugs as a kid, mostly from theme parks, and this is probably my favourite item.

6 – POSTER

Folded so pretty useless, but really it’s the list of items in the box.

LOOT GAMING BOX CONCLUSION

There we go – Loot Gaming Box Apocalypse.

I’m keeping the subscription for next month to see what we get.

Use our link and you’ll probably get some money off.
